Presenter: S. Schagen
Dr. Sanne Schagen is a group leader in the Division of Psychosocial Research and Epidemiology at the Netherlands Cancer Institute. Her primary research line is concerned with cognitive problems associated with cancer and its treatment. She conducts a range of interrelated studies in this area, including neuropsychological testing, the application of brain imaging techniques, experimental animal studies, and investigations of the perception and expression of psychosocial symptoms, as well as the development and testing of interventions aimed at diminishing cognitive decline. Her research line reflects the breadth and depth of her interests and activities. Over the years, she has successfully established strong interdisciplinary working relationships, also with international cancer organizations and patient groups. She is a member of the Steering Committee of the International Cognition and Cancer Task Force, aimed to coordinate international efforts to standardize research methods and to prioritize future directions in cancer and cognition research. Dr. Schagen is a licensed health care psychologist and clinical neuropsychologist.
